The variety is a traditional local variety of Spain and is included in national germplasm collections. In publications, it appears as an object for the study of genetic diversity of peaches.
For scientific purposes, the variety is used to study fruit physiology, including the effect of nitric oxide treatment on their quality and respiration rate during storage. Studies have also been conducted on the compatibility of the variety with various rootstocks, for example, with the Adara rootstock.
Cases of Plum pox virus (PPV) infection have been recorded on trees of this variety. Data on breeding resistance to diseases, as well as specialized morphological descriptions of the plant, are absent in open publications.
