The variety is used as an object for molecular genetic characterization and the development of SSR markers, and is also included in fruit crop collections. Scientific publications indicate a high content of flavan-3-ols in the fruit pulp.
There are genetic differences between the samples appearing under this name, which is reflected in the designation of Silvette 1 and Silvette 2 variants.
