The tree is vigorous and upright. The variety is self-incompatible; pollinators such as Santa Rosa, Laroda, or Black Amber are required for fruit set.

Fruits are large, flattened in shape, with amber soft flesh and a very small stone. The variety possesses high drought tolerance and high water content in annual shoots during the winter period.

The variety has a universal purpose and is currently often used as a valuable genetic resource for the breeding of new hybrid forms of plum and cherry plum.
