The Globe Sun variety is included in scientific research devoted to the characteristics of Japanese or Chinese plum. In literature, it is encountered as an object of variety trials, and is also used as a reference sample when analyzing the indicators of other varieties.
During trials in the Mediterranean region, the variety showed unstable yield. Its susceptibility to bacterial diseases, such as leptonecrosis and Xanthomonas spp. infections, was also recorded, due to which it was not recommended for widespread commercial horticulture.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
