Prunus salicina Lindl. Japanese plum · Fruit crops

Variety description

10 August 2026

The tree is characterized by medium or strong vigor and a spreading crown. It enters fruiting in the 3–4th year after planting. The variety is partially self-fertile; to increase yield, it is recommended to plant pollinator varieties nearby, such as Santa Rosa, Mariposa, Methley or Shiro.

Fruits have a round or slightly flattened shape, the skin is colored in maroon-green tones with a waxy bloom. The flesh is purple or beet-colored, juicy, possesses a sweet taste with possible acidity and an almond aroma. The stone separates from the flesh depending on the degree of ripeness.

The variety has high resistance to Clasterosporium carpophilum and bacterial canker, however, it requires protection against Monilia and Coccomyces in rainy weather. The winter hardiness of the variety is relatively low; when grown in the conditions of the central region, freezing is possible.
