The variety name translates from Danish as "half-long scarlet with white tip." The root has an elongated-cylindrical shape, similar to the French Breakfast or Flamboyant variety types.
In Danish registers, the variety is mentioned under the synonym Fota, as well as under the Italian name Mezzo lungo rosso a piccola punta bianca 3. The word Rapid in the packaging name historically indicates earliness and is not part of the variety name.
