The early-maturing radish variety Pernot (or Pernot Clair) forms semi-long cylindrical root crops. The skin of the root crop is bright red with a white tip, the flesh is white and crisp. The variety matures shortly after extra-early varieties, possesses a rich taste, and has a slowed process of cavity formation during overgrowth.
The plant is intended for cultivation in open and protected ground over a long period. The variety is relatively resistant to diseases, however, when grown under conditions of long daylight and certain temperatures, it may show a tendency to bolt. Used in breeding as a parental form.
