Westra is a derived form of the old variety Westwick Choice. In breeding practice, it is known as a key "parent" used in the creation of popular Ben series varieties, including Ben Hope and Ben Tron.
A key characteristic of the object is the upright habit of the bush, which is transmitted to progeny and ensures the suitability of plants for mechanical harvesting. In reference materials, the form appears in lists of genotypes for comparative trials, in particular, for disease resistance.
