The variety belongs to the very old ones; its origin is not precisely known, presumably it has existed since the 16th century. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and a late fruit ripening period.
The variety is considered very reliable and resistant to diseases and unfavorable weather conditions. Due to the fact that the plant buds quite late, it is little affected by late spring frosts, which allows it to be grown in high-altitude areas. When fully ripe, the fruits have an aroma and a reduced acid content.
