The variety is a vigorous, dense, fast-growing shrub with a height of 1.2 to 1.8 meters. The shoots are covered with sharp thorns along their entire length. The plant possesses high winter hardiness, is adapted to the conditions of Northern Europe, and is characterized by resistance to fungal diseases, in particular to American powdery mildew.
The fruits ripen in mid to late July. The berries have a round or slightly oval shape and weigh from 2.5 to 5 g (in individual cases up to 10 g). The skin color is dark burgundy with a waxy bloom. The taste of the fruits is sweet, with a characteristic acidity and aroma. Due to the firm skin, the berries are suitable for transportation and universal use fresh, for preserves, and for freezing.
