The plant is a vigorous spreading shrub 1.5–2 meters high, sometimes reaching 2.5 m in diameter. Strong upright shoots have practically no thorns, with the exception of rare cases at the base of the bush.

The berries are black with a purple tint and gathered in clusters of 3–6 pieces. They are larger than currant fruits but smaller than gooseberries, have a sweet and sour taste with a muscat note, and do not have the specific aroma of black currant.

The variety matures in mid-June — early July, with fruits not falling off the branches for a long time. The shrub is characterized by frost resistance and high resistance to powdery mildew, leaf spot, rust, and bud mite.

The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and various types of processing. Due to its lush crown and long-lasting foliage, the bush is often used in landscape design, including for creating hedges.
