The variety is an amphidiploid hybrid obtained by crossing blackcurrant (*Ribes nigrum*) and *Ribes niveum*. The plant is a fast-growing perennial shrub up to 1.5 m in height with thick shoots and no thorns.

The berries of the variety are dark purple in color, reaching a weight of 3 g. The taste of the fruits changes throughout the season from gooseberry-like to blackcurrant-like. The hybrid is characterized by complex resistance to American powdery mildew, anthracnose, and the blackcurrant gall mite, as well as high winter hardiness and drought tolerance.

The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and various types of processing. Due to the vigorous habit of the bush, the variety is also used to create hedges.
