The plant is a vigorous spreading shrub with strong shoots. Unlike the Josta variety, Jostine has a more compact habit, which facilitates maintenance in small areas. Thorns are absent or found in minimal quantities in the lower part of the bush, which does not interfere with harvesting.

The variety is mid-early; berry ripening occurs in early July. The medium-sized fruits are suitable for universal use. The plant is characterized by high resistance to American gooseberry mildew and columnar rust.

The variety is partially self-fertile, therefore, to increase yield, it is recommended to plant it near other jostaberry or blackcurrant varieties. The bushes are distinguished by good resistance to lodging due to their upright growth habit.
