The variety Malling Freya, also known by the breeding number EM 6413/59, is one of the earliest summer raspberry varieties. The berry ripening period occurs approximately two weeks earlier than that of the Glen Ample variety.

The berries have a light red color, a shiny surface, high firmness, and good taste characteristics, which makes them suitable for sale in supermarkets. The variety is floricane, meaning it fruits on second-year canes.
