The variety is a vigorous, upright plant approximately 1.5 meters tall. The canes have prickles. Fruiting occurs on previous year's canes and begins in June. The plant is noted for high productivity and the ability to grow in poor soils; however, under conditions of high humidity, the fruits may soften.
The berries are red and have a dessert flavor. The variety exhibits genetic resistance to the aphid Amphorophora idaei, which prevents the spread of viruses transmitted by it, and is also resistant to gray mold. The berries are suitable for fresh consumption and processing.
Complex crosses involving Rubus cockburnianus were used in the breeding process. The variety is often used as a parent form for breeding new hybrids. This is a summer-bearing variety that requires the removal of spent canes after harvest.
