Madawaska bushes are upright, reaching 1–1.5 meters in height. The canes have a small number of spines, which facilitates berry harvesting. The plant has a high capacity for root sucker formation, allowing it to quickly fill space in the row.

The berries are medium to medium-large in size, dark red in color, and have a moderately firm texture and sweet taste. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and resistance to grey mold, although it has some susceptibility to powdery mildew.

The variety is versatile: the berries are suitable both for fresh consumption and for various types of processing, including the preparation of jams and canning.
