The Rubaca variety (originally breeding number Weihenstephan 18) is a summer raspberry intended for both commercial and amateur cultivation. The plant reaches a height of 1.5–2 m, has reddish-brown shoots with thorns and an upright, eventually slightly drooping growth habit.

Fruiting begins around August. The berries are round in shape and bright red in color, are distinguished by a sweet taste, and are suitable for both fresh consumption and processing. The variety has resistance to the root rot pathogen Phytophthora fragariae var. rubi.
