Naperti clones (No. 77 and No. 82) are used primarily as an energy crop in short-rotation plantations. They have also been used for experimental purposes to study the effect of wastewater irrigation on productivity and plant growth.

Scientific research has examined the microanatomical characteristics of the leaves of these clones, including the structure of the epidermis and mesophyll, as well as their response to the presence of toxic elements in the soil. Furthermore, the clones have been considered for use in agroforestry systems as windbreaks or companion crops in combination with field plants.
