The variety has a relatively straight trunk and wide-spreading branches, with lateral shoots curving upwards. Branch color varies from olive-green to brown. Lanceolate leaves are 7.5–9 cm long and about 1.5 cm wide, colored light green on top and glaucous green underneath; leaf fall occurs late.
The plant is characterized as a fast-growing variety at a young age. In addition to decorative use in parks and roadside plantings, the variety is being studied as an energy crop for biomass production and for its ability to accumulate salts.
