The plant reaches a height of 40–45 cm. Small flowers are collected in spike-like inflorescences and have an intensely violet-blue corolla color. The flowering period lasts from June to September, sometimes extending into October.
The plant prefers sunny areas with loose, fertile, and moderately dry soil; it is sensitive to excess moisture. Used in landscape design for creating group plantings, aromatic flower beds, mixed borders, and rock gardens.
