The variety «Ceske» (also known as «České normální») is an old rye population of Czechoslovak origin. Currently, it is not a commercial variety and is not intended for wide agricultural production.
In modern science, the variety is used as genetic material for biochemical research, including the study of root anatomy, secalin protein composition, and the structure of lignin in straw. After 1962, the variety was widely grown in Slovakia, but today it is maintained primarily in genetic resource collections.
