A German winter rye variety used in programs for transitioning varieties to the tetraploid level. In the past, the variety served as a state standard for trials in several European countries and became widespread in Slovakia after 1962.
The variety possesses relatively low grain productivity compared to modern hybrid forms. In scientific literature, it appears as genetic material in the study of rye trisomics.
