The variety is a winter form of rye created through directional crossing of parental forms. For decades, the crop was widely cultivated for food and feed purposes, possessing high yield and adaptability to local conditions for its time.
As a breeding object, the variety was frequently used in the creation of triticale lines. Compared to modern varieties of the Dańkowskie series, it is characterized by a less rigid stem and an increased tendency to lodging.
