Dańkowskie Złote belongs to the population type varieties. The grain is characterized by moderate amylolytic activity and stable baking properties, thanks to which the variety is traditionally used as high-quality raw material for the baking industry and vodka production.
The variety possesses the ability to adapt to unfavorable conditions, including effective phosphorus uptake on specific soils. In breeding work, it was used as a parental form to improve quality traits of other winter rye varieties. In modern publications, it is classified as a historically significant breeding standard.
