Variety description

10 August 2026

The Farino variety is a diploid winter form of rye. In scientific literature, it is used as material for research on the baking properties of flour, in particular farinogram parameters, and for the study of self-pollination mechanisms.

In European breeding practice, the variety is used as a reference for characterizing diploid winter rye forms. Researchers use it to analyze the influence of genotype and environmental conditions on grain composition and pre-harvest sprouting resistance.
