The variety is a population originating from local crops in Tuusula and Järvenpää. Due to its high winter hardiness, the variety was recommended for cultivation in regions with heavy snow cover, including Northern Finland.

The plant belongs to small-grained types and demonstrates high xylanase enzyme activity. Compared to modern hybrids, the variety is characterized by lower yield and less resistance to lodging; currently, it is used primarily for the purpose of genetic resource conservation.
