The variety Embla is officially registered as spring rye (Secale cereale L.). At present, detailed information on its agronomic and morphological traits, including plant height, resistance to diseases, lodging, or grain quality characteristics, is not available in the public domain.

The name Embla is also used for other plant species, in particular for orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata), and is a trademark for various commercial products not related to cereal breeding.
