The Immanu variety, also known by the synonyms Irmana, Immana, Irmanu, and Jermanella, is a local landrace adapted for cultivation in the hilly and mountainous regions of the Italian provinces of Catania, Enna, and Messina. The plant is characterized by a vigorous root system, allowing for efficient utilization of poor soils.
