The LSR80 line is a genetic tool intended for breeding work. In the hybridization system, it is classified as a paternal line and is used as a male fertility restorer when crossed with cytoplasmic male sterile lines.
This material is not intended for direct commercial cultivation in fields. Specifically, it is used in the production of the Brasetto winter rye hybrid. The process of creating the line involved crossing two parental forms followed by manual emasculation and open pollination under isolation conditions.
