The variety is a hybrid (F1) created to realize the potential of heterosis . In comparative trials of that period, the grain was characterized by a relatively low thousand kernel weight .
The plant exhibits high susceptibility to stem and leaf diseases, in particular to brown rust . It is also noted to be prone to ergot infection, to which this variety may be more susceptible compared to traditional variety types.
