The variety is characterized by a fairly dense stand with broad leaves. The ear is dense, slightly fish-shaped, with long brownish awns. The grain is small, grey-green in color, and the thousand kernel weight is less than 30 grams.
The plant is well adapted to windy and maritime conditions, as well as to poor soils. High resistance to ergot is noted even under reduced pollination, as well as straw strength, which ensures resistance to lodging. The variety is suitable for cultivation without the use of herbicides and growth regulators.
It is used as a food crop for bread baking; experiments are also being conducted on its use in whiskey production.
