The Muro variety is a diploid winter rye. The breeding of this variety involved the use of mutant material obtained, among other things, through exposure to sodium azide.

In agricultural research, the variety is characterized as short-stemmed, distinguished by high productivity and good grain quality. It was actively used in breeding as initial material for creating new varieties, including tetraploid forms.
