The variety Sopronhorpácsi Tetra is a tetraploid variety of rye. In agronomic practice, it was in demand primarily as a substrate for the industrial cultivation of ergot, which is necessary for the needs of the pharmaceutical industry.
The plant has a tall stem, which required the use of growth regulators during the cultivation process. The level of susceptibility to infection during artificial inoculation depends on the density of the crops and current climatic conditions.
