The Stål (Stålråg) variety is a winter form of rye created by the Swedish Seed Association. In the period from 1921 to 1954, the crop was actively used in commercial agricultural production.

The variety is registered in the NordGen database as an improved cultivated sample. In 1951, a tetraploid form based on this variety was introduced, which received the name Dubbelstål.
