The variety was created by hybridization followed by individual-family selection. It belongs to diploid forms.

The caryopsis of the variety has a dark-colored aleurone layer. The plants possess resistance to scolecotrichosis infection.

The variety is used in research work and breeding programs for studying the winter rye gene pool; it exhibits high adaptability.
