Variety description

The plant forms a compact shrub with a height of 30 to 60 cm. The leaves are lanceolate in shape, dark green in color, with a glossy surface, smooth edges, and blunt tips. Leaf length is 7.5–10 cm with a width of 2–3 cm.
A characteristic feature is the large spherical inflorescences with a diameter of 5–10 cm. The flowers have a yellow-green color at the beginning of development; from November, they gradually lighten and turn white.
The crop is used in ornamental gardening for borders, accent plantings, container gardening, and floristry. The plant prefers partial shade, tolerates direct sunlight, and belongs to hardiness zone 5B.
Skimmia japonica is a dioecious plant. For full berry formation, the presence of both male and female specimens is necessary in the area.
