The plant is a compact evergreen shrub 20–30 cm tall. The leaves are lanceolate, with blunt tips, entire, reach 10–15 cm in length, and have a dark green color.

Inflorescences in the form of racemes are less than 5 cm long and 3–5 cm in diameter; the flowers are small and fragrant. The fruits are spherical red berries.

The variety is used in landscape design and container gardening. The shrub adapts to conditions ranging from direct sun to partial shade and attracts pollinators.
