The modern Rotkäppchen variety is an early-maturing, short-stature standard plant with a height ranging from 30-40 to 80 cm. The bush is compact and does not require obligatory suckering. The plant is characterized by resistance to late blight, Verticillium wilt, Fusarium wilt, and tobacco mosaic virus.

The fruits have a round shape, sometimes with slight ribbing at the stem, and are red or bright red in color. The fruit weight ranges from 30-40 to 60-80 g. The flesh is juicy and sweet in taste; the skin is thin but resistant to cracking.

The variety is considered universal and is suitable for cultivation in the open field, greenhouses, as well as in containers on balconies and windowsills. The harvest is suitable for both fresh consumption and whole-fruit canning.
