The Gigante Sirio variety is an indeterminate plant that produces large 'beefsteak' type fruits weighing from 400 to 600 grams. The tomatoes are red in color and are distinguished by their juiciness and meatiness, as well as a balanced flavor with a combination of acidity and sugar.

In scientific literature, the name Sirio is found in lists of tomato genotypes used in salinity tolerance studies, although detailed agrotechnical characteristics are not described in such works. The name is also used for rice and onion varieties, which creates confusion.
