The variety is an heirloom cultivar from the Midi-Pyrénées region. The plant is characterized by vigorous development and the ability to form up to ten fruits per plant. The variety is heat-loving, requires plenty of sun and well-warmed soil; in cool climates, cultivation in protected ground is recommended.
The fruits have an elongated cylindrical shape, reaching a length of 15–25 cm and a diameter of 6–8 cm with a weight of 100–180 grams. The skin is glossy, light purple in color. The flesh of the fruits is white, has a sweetish taste, is practically devoid of bitterness, and is suitable for preparing various dishes, including stuffing. Due to high productivity, the bushes require staking.
