The variety was bred at the Teagasc Oak Park Research Centre as a result of crossing parent forms Colleen and Estima. The plant is characterized by early maturity and good uniformity of marketable tubers.
The tubers are round in shape; the variety is suitable for growing as early baking potatoes. High skin quality and resistance to a number of common potato diseases are noted.
