The potato variety Kormoran is characterized by a high starch content in the tubers, reaching 23%. The starch granules of this variety have a relatively small average size, measuring approximately 24.0 µm.

In scientific literature, the variety is mentioned in comparative studies aimed at examining the properties of native starch, as well as in tests for stress resistance and reaction to pest infestation.
