The Pansta variety was obtained by crossing Saturna and SVP (VTn)², using genes from the wild species Solanum vernei in its creation. The plant is characterized by the absence of anthocyanin coloration on the inner side of the corolla of white flowers.
The main value of the variety lies in its genetic resistance to potato cyst nematode pathotypes Globodera rostochiensis (Ro1–3) and Globodera pallida (Pa2). High resistance to tuber late blight, common scab, potato virus A, and potato virus Y has also been recorded.
