The variety belongs to the historical breeding achievements of the Keřkov station, which traditionally include the letters 'R' and 'K' in their names. At the peak of its popularity, the variety was grown on more than 50% of the country's potato acreage.
In scientific literature of the 1980s–1990s, the variety was mentioned in the context of research into resistance to Potato virus S (PVS), to which it showed susceptibility under long-term field cultivation. The variety was also actively used as a model object in in vitro biotechnological research.
