The Stemster variety is a plant with a height from 0.5 to 1 meter with high growth vigor and rapid emergence. Tubers have an elongated-oval shape, red skin color, and pale yellow flesh.
The plant possesses high adaptability and tolerates drought and heat well. The variety shows resistance to potato cyst nematode (PCN Ro1) and potato virus Y.
The dry matter content in the tubers is 18–20%. The variety belongs to cooking type B, is characterized by slight disintegration during cooking, and is suitable for boiling, frying, baking, and making mashed potatoes. The tubers have good keeping quality.
