The variety was obtained by crossing the varieties «Duke of York» and «MPI 19268». In the scientific literature of the 1970s, it was classified as late-maturing.
The variety belongs to table potato types. During research, its flouriness, taste qualities, and tendency to darken after boiling were studied under various cultivation conditions.
