The variety has compact plants with purple flowers. The tubers possess good culinary qualities and an attractive shape.

VB Rasa possesses immunity to potato wart and resistance to the golden potato cyst nematode. It also exhibits field resistance to common scab and has low susceptibility to blackleg, viral diseases, and rhizoctonia. The level of resistance to late blight is assessed as moderate or high.
