The Yelda variety was obtained by crossing Slaney and Mondial. The plants have high growth vigor and form sprouts quickly. 10–12 large tubers with shallow eyes are formed in one nest.
The variety has a culinary type A-B, is slightly floury, and almost does not darken after thermal processing. The dry matter content is 17–19%. The tubers are characterized by a long dormancy period and good resistance to mechanical damage.
The variety possesses high resistance to common scab, potato wart, and PVYntn virus. It is moderately resistant to tuber late blight, early blight, and G. rostochiensis (Ro2-3) nematodes. Resistance to late blight of the foliage is low, and resistance to G. pallida nematode is absent.
