The Sauri hybrid is characterized by high biomass productivity and significant sugar accumulation in the stalks. It is one of the most early-maturing hybrids on the market, capable of reaching 28–30% dry matter in 65–80 days, which makes it suitable for use as a stubble crop.

In regions of Kenya, the name Sauri is used as a local designation for traditional sorghum varieties grown in the context of local agriculture. In this context, detailed morphological descriptions characteristic of registered breeding achievements are absent.
