The hybrid is characterized by a medium rate of development. The plant has a very upright growth habit, which facilitates the harvesting process. Leaves are oval-shaped, fleshy, and colored a medium green.

The variety belongs to the baby leaf type and possesses a wide harvest window during which the produce retains its market quality. The hybrid has high resistance to spinach downy mildew (races 1–18) and to Stemphylium vesicarium.

Hydrus F1 is recommended for the fresh market, particularly for the spring period with harvests in May and October.
